Horn in the head

A sight of a donkey at a construction site near the Arabian sea in Mumbai with one leg injured and being ill treated by the owner contrarily made me think of a mythic animal of Ormuzd's, the three-legged ass. In Sassanian culture, similar to the reference to the European Unicorn, three-legged donkey symbolizes purity and power against evil and is regarded as a champion of those oppressed by the devil. The concept is still of utmost importance when noxious creatures of Ahriman are viewed in the context of how our rivers, lakes, and oceans are being contaminated by pollutants, constituting risks to water quality and ecological damage. A myth such as this catalyzes reflection about the aesthetic and spiritual dimension of the ongoing changes in the society and our environment or concept of sustainability
